Merit Scholarship - awarded to Mikhail Patel in recognition of his scholastic achievement, in support of his career goals and to encourage his enduring interest in public service.

Award of Merit - Jim & Kay Keller, 670 Morning Street. This highest award is given to home and business owners in recognition of their sensitivity and efforts at historic architectural preservation in the City of Worthington.

Our limited housing stock is especially important to our future  development of quality neighborhoods and thriving businesses.

It's where our families live and make great investments. On July 12, 2010, City Council defeated an ordinance to add NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL to our LOW DENSITY APARTMENT zones. Now let’s remember the issue here: The owners want to place an antiques store in the house at 38-40 E. New England Avenue, a contributing property in the Worthington Historic District. The unanimous opposition of the neighbors stopped this tactic--with the support of the Olde Worthington Business Association and OWA. The plot thickens.

On May 24, 2010, the board of trustees will meet at 7:30pm at LaChatelaine to update its Scholarship policy. Resolutions will be entertained on  the number of scholarships, their value, funding and related issues. Anyone interested in helping the board make the important decisions regarding scholarships is invited to attend. Today’s high-school seniors will guide the future of Worthington--we must help them to prepare.
